Who do you think could be in for a big Week 15?
The Detroit Lions are pretty beat up heading into Week 15. They’ve already declared five players out for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills and there are another six players that are questionable.
The cupboard is bare, the playoff chances are on their last leg and the team is desperate. The Bills are in no better shape—they’ve already been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention—so it looks bleak all around.
But Sunday also spells opportunity for individual players. Whether they’re trying to put good tape out there for an upcoming free agency period or just head into next season with a little bit of momentum, players have something to play for every single week and can’t afford to help a team tank. So today’s Question of the Day is:
Which Lions player could have a big game vs. the Bills?
My answer: Well, if I’m being completely honest, I’ve lost all faith in anyone currently on the Lions offense, and the Bills defense is really, really good. So I can’t really predict anyone on offense having a good day this week.
Defensively, there are a few candidates that could stick out this week. I’m going to go ahead and pick linebacker Jarrad Davis.
Davis is coming off one of his better games of the season against the Cardinals, and this week he could be a key piece to Detroit’s defense. Oftentimes this year, he has been given the task of playing quarterback spy, and the Lions will almost certainly spend extra resources making sure Bills quarterback Josh Allen doesn’t beat them with their legs.
If Davis can follow up last week’s promising performance with another one, it will definitely bring some much needed optimism to Lions fans—myself included—who have continually grown more skeptical of the young linebacker’s play.
