Saturday NFL football open thread: Texans vs. Jets, Browns vs. Broncos

A couple of Saturday Nfl games await. Come watch with us.

Now that the college season is over and boring bowl season is upon us, the NFL has stepped in and reclaimed the entire weekend. That’s right, it’s Saturday Nfl Football time, and Week 15 continues with, well, an somewhat underwhelming couple of appetizers before Sunday’s big entree.

First, the Houston Texans—fresh off their first loss in a couple months—will take on the New York Jets. New York is officially eliminated from playoff contention, while the Texans are on the verge of clinching a playoff spot at 9-4. It’s not exactly a thrilling matchup, but if you’re rooting for the Lions’ draft position, the Jets are 4-9 and currently picking fifth. The Lions at 5-8 could potentially jump them with a loss and a Jets win.

After that, a slightly better matchup looms between the 5-7-1 Browns and the 6-7 Broncos. Both teams are currently still in the playoffs but on the outside looking in. The Broncos can’t win their division and the Brown are a longshot, but a win on Saturday will keep them in the race.
