Lions-Vikings injury report: Ezekiel Ansah returns to practice, Jamal Agnew sits

The Lions could get a key piece back this week.

With just two days until the Detroit Lions face off against the Minnesota Vikings, time is running out for both teams to get healthy by kickoff.

The Lions may be getting a key part of their defensive line back this week, as Ezekiel Ansah returned to Practice for the first time in several weeks on Tuesday. The Lions’ best pass rusher and edge setter was limited in practice with a back injury.

His return to the lineup would be huge for the Lions considering all of their issues along the defensive line which have now been further complicated by the recent waiving of defensive tackle Khyri Thornton.

The news isn’t as promising for the Lions’ punt and kick returner, Jamal Agnew, who missed Tuesday’s practice with a knee injury suffered late in the Bears game on Sunday. Agnew told reporters that he doesn’t think the injury is significant, but it looks like he may not play given the short week.

As for the Vikings, all 63 players were present at Tuesday’s practice. That includes right tackle Mike Remmers, who has missed the past two games while in concussion protocol. He has yet to completely clear protocol, but there is now a chance he’ll play on Thursday.

Head coach Mike Zimmer was optimistic about every other player on their Injury Report, including cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes and Mackensie Alexander—both of whom were full participants on Tuesday:
