Thursday Night Football open thread: Chiefs at Raiders

It’s Week 7 and there are no Lions games this week. So why not enjoy an emotionless AFC matchup to kick things off?

Week 7 is here, and I imagine for a lot of you, it means a relieving week off from Football. I can’t blame you. The past four weeks of Detroit Lions football has been stressful at the least and maddening at its worst. We’re not even at the halfway point of the season, but given the extremely wide range of Lions Takes over the first month, we’re all a little exhausted.

But, for me, that makes me crave football even more. You mean I get to watch a full slate of games without even the smallest bit of stress? I can just enjoy football at in its most basic form? Sometimes football without the emotion is the best kind of football.

And what better way to kickoff a week of Lions-less football than a game that has literally no impact on the Lions whatsoever. The Chiefs and the Raiders face off in an AFC West matchup. Oakland is trying to hold onto relevancy after an extremely disappointing 2-4 start. The Chiefs, on the other hand, are atop the entire NFL with a 5-1 record, but are looking to prove they belong there after dropping their first game of the season to the Steelers last week.

Here’s when and how you can catch “Thursday Night Football.”
