Saturday open thread: What is your favorite Detroit Lions play of all time?

If you could pick out a single Lions play, what is your favorite?

I feel like recently we’ve been very lucky as Detroit Lions fans. It may not feel like it, considering the team still hasn’t won a playoff game in well over two decades, but stay with me here.

Since the 2011 season, the Lions have been a part of some amazing games. Whether it was the classic “Monday Night Football” game against the Chicago Bears that pushed Detroit to 5-0 in 2011 or the comeback(s) against the Dallas Cowboys, the Lions have been one of the most entertaining teams over the past five or six seasons.

But let’s take those amazing games and trim them down to one specific play. Today’s Question of the Day is:

What is your favorite play in Detroit Lions history?

My answer: It has to be Matthew Stafford’s shoulderless game-winning touchdown pass against the Cleveland Browns during his rookie season. I have watched that play probably close to 100 times, and I have had chills run down my spine in all 100 viewings. It may have been a completely irresponsible play by Stafford, but that just makes it more heroic.

I don’t need to explain the play to you. Why not just watch it—and the entire Matthew Stafford Mic’d Up segment—all over again?

Your turn.
