Now that the Nfl Combine is over, which player impressed you the most?
The NFL Combine is over and today marks the beginning of the negotiating period of free agency. Starting at noon eastern time, NFL teams will be able to speak with agents around the league about players that may become free agents in a few days. If a player is not re-signed by their original team by 4 p.m. ET on Thursday March 9, they will officially become free agents and will be free to sign with anyone.
But before we get into that, let’s take one last look at the combine. The defensive backs capped off the week-long event on Monday. It was the last opportunity for fans to see their draft picks in action before the draft, even though the prospects will still work out during mostly non televised pro days. Sunday we discussed our favorite offensive prospects. So today’s Question of the Day is:
Which defensive prospect impressed you the most at the NFL Combine?
My answer: Obviously, Myles Garrett bested out in Indianapolis and pretty much cemented his slot as the No. 1 pick in April’s NFL Draft. However, the guy that intrigues me the most right now is Temple linebacker Haason Reddick. I actually picked Reddick in a Reddit mock draft I did last week, but, in truth, it was a desperation pick that I wasn’t too confident in.
However, after Reddick’s performance at the combine, I am much more comfortable with that pick for the Lions at 21, if he even manages to make it there. Reddick has elite speed for a man his size and could immediately upgrade the Lions’ coverage skills in the middle of their defense. I am excited to see what Reddick can do at the next level.
