Notes: Lions get good news regarding Ezekiel Ansah shoulder injury

While we patiently await Matthew Stafford’s fate, it appears Ezekiel Ansah is fine.

  • While we’ve all been losing our minds semi-panicking about Matthew Stafford and his finger injury, not much has been said about Ezekiel Ansah. Ansah left Sunday’s game against the Bears with a shoulder injury. He did eventually return near the end of the contest, but his status post-game was unknown. However, according to Adam Caplan—who has been very accurate with his reporting this season—the Lions and their fans likely don’t have much to worry about:

  • For the eighth time this season, a Detroit Lions player has been nominated for the CastrolUSA Clutch Performer of the Week. This week, it’s none other than Matthew Stafford, who ran in a 7-yard touchdown that ended up being the game-winning score. Vote for Stafford here or follow the Twitter directions below:

  • Pro Football Focus gave their choices for the Pro Bowl on Tuesday. Stafford, Darius Slay and Matt Prater all made their list.

  • Speaking of the Pro Bowl, the NFL announced on Monday they have added a bunch of skills competitions to the event, including dodgeball!

  • Chris Spielman broke down three key plays from the Lions-Bears game that led Detroit to victory:

  • Zach Zenner was “Wired for Sound” against the Bears, but didn’t have much to say. Still, it’s worth it to watch Stafford rally the troops with a pregame speech.

  • The NFL announced four games that will be played in London in 2017 (“home” teams listed first):

Jaguars vs. Ravens
Dolphins vs. Saints
Browns vs. Vikings
Rams vs. Cardinals

  • This could make things interesting down the stretch:
