What ever your Relationship status, you most likely know what day it is tomorrow. Valentine’s Day. The day loved by the happily coupled-up and hated by singletons. Anyhow, Paperchase have launched a fabulous range of gifts for the occasion and very kindly sent me a few to review. Unfortunately this post is up a bit late thanks to issues with the postal service (the letterbox in my new pad is tiny so they’d held the package at a delivery centre hours away from where I live), but if you’re looking for a last minute Gift idea or just a quirky gift for a partner or friend, read on.
This Dating Journal is a bit like an adult version of those Jacqueline Wilson journals you used to get as a kid. There are loads of sections you can fill in, such as “draw the first person you ever dated”, and “list what you want in your next partner”, then a section for “dating notes” at the back. More aimed at singles still navigating the murky waters of online dating than those in a relationship, but it would make a fun gift for a friend’s birthday or a work Secret Santa (getting a little ahead of myself there but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared). As you can see I had a bit of fun with this one:
Cook Your Date Into Bed
Cook Your Date Into Bed by Helen Graves is a collection of recipes that you can Cook for a date. The Book is divided into sections such as “The Dinner Date”, and “The Picnic Date”, and each section usually features a main course, dessert, and some form of alcoholic drink. Unfortunately as I only received the book yesterday, there wasn’t time to try out any of the recipes and give the book a thorough rating, but overall the book is interesting and well put together. The recipes were a little meat focused for my liking (I’m a vegetarian), but I would have loved to try making some of those cocktails! This book would probably suit both those in a relationship and those still actively dating.
And finally… Love Tokens! This set of 15 Tokens ranges from “Massage” to an “End Of Argument” token giving the holder the last word. This one’s definitely more aimed at couples, and would be great as a comedy gift.
So whether you’re single, or happily paired up, make sure you have a great Valentine’s Day!
