The rhubarb chutney has a lovely fruity tang that’s great for your seasonal cheeseboard, while the sticky onion marmalade is rich and sumptuous. Who: Launched in 2014, Clare’s Preserves is a true artisan producer of award-winning marmalades, jams, jellies, chutneys and relishes.
Why you need to try this: There are few things nicer than cranberry jelly when it comes to enjoying your roast dinner. So you can imagine how pleased we were when we discovered that Clare’s preserves had enhanced this classic condiment by giving it a mulled twist! Otter Vale Jelly & Chutney

What: Possibly two of the best condiments you’ll pair with your festive buffet this year.

Who: Otter Vale are a local family run business whose award-winning chutneys and condiments have kept loyal customers coming back for years.

Why you should gift these: We’ve yet to meet anyone who hasn’t fallen in love with Otter Vale’s wide range of chutneys, jellies and mustards. This year we intend on putting together a festive cheese board and buffet for our guests and we’ve made sure that our pantry is stocked full of their tempting preserves. Having said that, we also think that their products make lovely foodie gifts as well. Fans of smoked salmon need to try it with a spoonful of Gooseberry & Elderflower chutney, as this light and tasty chutney is a wonderful companion to fish. Likewise their Quince jelly is perfect for cheese lovers, as it goes beautifully with a nice Manchego and hard cheeses too.

Price: £2 each.

Seasonal Snacking

Mr Filberts Moroccan Spiced Almonds

What: Unbelievably moorish snacks that are full of flavour.
Who: Mr Filberts create distinctive nut and seed snacks using local honey, fresh herbs, chilli and hand foraged wild garlic from local sources. Each recipe is free from gluten and diary as well as artificial flavours, colours and preservatives.
Why you should gift these: These are no ordinary bags of nuts; these are Filberts spiced nuts. Don’t just stick them in a sharing bowl this Christmas- instead we recommend roughly chopping up a handful of these nuts and sprinkling them over hummus to add some texture, crunch and a hit of spice to proceedings. Over the festive season we like to keep a bag or two in the kitchen cupboard for making a quick and tasty time saving side dish of Moroccan style couscous, but we think that they’re perfect for gifting too.

Price: £3.35 a pack
