During the eastern Mediterranean cruise on board the yacht Christina, owned by shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, guests, who included Sir Winston Churchill and many other famous personalities, who visited the tiny Corinthian Gulf Port of Itea and later drove to Delphi to visit the ancient temples and ruins there. Two ladies here, with a little footsore, but having thoroughly enjoyed themselves, rest up for a moment on one of the archaeological sites. They are Mrs. Athina Onassis, wife of the shipping magnate, and famous American singer, Maria Callas. Later in the evening, the party returned to the yacht and sailed for the Aegean Islands - 1959.

The official Athens news agency reported October 30th that Onassis and his bride, the former Jacqueline Kennedy, planned to leave the Greek capitol by plane for New York on October 31st. The news agency, quoting Greek press reports, said the trip would be the first stage of an expected world tour that would include stops in Monte Carlo, the Bahamas, Bermuda and possibly Hawaii. There was no direct confirmation of the report - 1968.
