There’s been another fatal Las Vegas Moped Accident. The accident occurred right by the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino. It occurred at the main intersection there, West Flamingo Road and South Valley View Road. "On October 21, 2016, at approximately 5:02 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on W. Flamingo Road at the intersection with S. Valley View Boulevard. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a 2004 Mazda 6, operated by 33­ year­ old Juan Ramirez, was making a left turn at the intersection from west to south. A 2015 Baodiao moped, operated by a 48­ year ­old male, was traveling east on W. Flamingo Road. The Moped entered the intersection against a red traffic signal according to witnesses. The front of the Moped struck the right front of the Mazda. The 48 ­year ­old male, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to the University Medical Center Trauma hospital where he was pronounced deceased despite all resuscitative efforts. This collision marked the 89th traffic related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2016. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's collision investigation section."
