The year of 2015 for BJP was 'Kahin Khushi-Khain Gham' It won in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand. And for the first tin=me it became a partner in power in J&K. on the other hand there was a break to its happiness. It tested defeat in Delhi and Bihar.
As for Bihar, PM Modi made all out efforts by addressing maximum number of rallies. Even showing lollipop of Bihar package. But voters by now knew that the package must be a 'Jumla' like bringing back 'Black Money' and promising to deposit 15 Lakhs in every Indian's account.
After watching the results of 2014 general elections it was widely believed that BJP is now strong in 'Hindi heartland.' But Delhi and Bihar proved it to be a 'Myth.' Before BJP could digest these defeats there was another jolt for the party in Gujarat. Modi's own territory. It lost 'Half of Gujarat' in local bodies' elections. It was routed out in rural areas. This is due to Patels' agitation for reservations. Hardcore Hardik proved like an atom bomb for BJP in Gujarat. BJP is still to come out of this shock. This happened in spite of our PM and the President of the largest party came from Gujarat.
The results in Gujarat have forced BJP/RSS to change guards in Gujarat. If the information coming out from very reliable sources is to be believed they are seriously considering the change of guard in Gujarat as a damage control strategy of next year's elections in Gujarat. The sources say that RSS is
thinking strongly to replace present CM Anandiben Patel with Amit Shah.
The High Command of BJP is seriously believes that only Amit Shah can check Hardik Patel. In Gujarat Patels make and break governments. Hardik Patel is currently in jail. He declared recently that there will be rallies for reservation on Jan 26, the Republic Day.
Makar Sankrant is celebrated in Gujarat as Utrayana. Amit Shah is camping in Gujarat for Four days. His stay in Gujarat for such a long time and the news of making him the CM of Gujarat has become 'Talk of the Town.'
Will the gamble played by RSS/BJP get rich dividends? Will Shah be able to contain Hardik Patel and Patel lobby? Will Hardik be released from the jail and offered some milky position in the cabinet? Will Hardik accept it? These and many such questions are going round in Ahmadabad, Gujarat and Delhi. Will 2015 be repeated in Gujarat? Only time will tell.
I spoke to a few Patels over here and asked them whether they support Hardik or BJP? And their choice is the first one.
