Mason Mount has sent a direct message to Chelsea fans amid rumours he could exit Stamford Bridge.

Mason Mount, 24, is certainly keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to his future. This comes at a time when there’s widespread speculation he could be on the move in the summer transfer window.

However, Chelsea’s attacking midfielder spoke directly to the club’s supporters yesterday reflecting on a poor 2022/23 season.

Mount wrote on Instagram: 

“It’s fair to say it’s been an up and down season, but your support has never dipped. Travelling all around the country, you were with us every step of the way and at times we didn’t deserve you. But now it’s time to have a break and recover… Thank you & enjoy your summer Blues.”

Chelsea’s 1-1 draw yesterday at home to Newcastle United brought to an end a miserable campaign. The Blues ended up finishing 12th in the Premier League table.

All attention now turns towards the summer window and the futures of several individuals.

We, along with the Chelsea fanbase, are anxious to see what happens with Mount.

Was yesterday’s lap around the Stamford Bridge pitch a farewell? Or will we see Chelsea’s academy graduate extend his stay with us?

We heard from The Daily Mail last week that Chelsea are likely to sell Mount if he doesn’t agree a contract extension amid interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

The playmaker’s current deal at the Bridge is due to expire at the end of next season, so the Blues hierarchy don’t want to allow him to run his contract down.

It certainly wasn’t a vintage season for Mount at Chelsea, scoring just three goals and creating six assists.

We expect he’ll be back to his best next year, whether that be for the Blues or in another team’s colours.
