Michael Avenatti’s presidential aspirations go down in flames following an alleged Domestic Violence arrest after a confrontation with a woman reportedly turned violent. Initial reports were that the woman was his estranged wife, but that was not the case.
Avenatti is currently being held by the Los Angeles Police Department after a confrontation in the street with his estranged wife turned violence. TMZ reports the woman filed a Felony Domestic Violence report after her face was left “bruised and swollen.”
We’re told during today’s confrontation the woman ran out of the apartment building and was on the sidewalk on her cellphone with sunglasses covering her eyes, screaming on the phone, “I can’t believe you did this to me.”
We’re told security brought her inside the building and Michael showed up 5 minutes later, ran into the building, chasing after her. He screamed repeatedly, “She hit me first.” We’re told he angrily added, “This is bulls***, this is f***ing bulls***.”
Buzzfeed also confirmed Avenatti’s arrest for felony domestic violence and that he is currently in LAPD custody.
Update: We can confirm that Michael Avenatti (DOB: 02-16-71) was booked this afternoon on a felony domestic violence charge (273.5 PC). His bail is set at $50,000.

In a statement Avenatti called the allegations “bogus” and “fabricated.” He said, “I have never struck a woman. I never will strike a woman.”
“I have been an advocate for women’s rights my entire career and I’m going to continue to be an advocate. I am not going to be intimidated from stopping what I am doing,” he said. “I am a father to two beautiful, smart, daughters. I would never disrespect them by touching a woman inappropriately or striking a woman.”
“I am looking forward to a full investigation at which point I am confident that I will be fully exonerated,” Avenatti said.
