Donald Trump dissed Mexican-Americans by canceling the White House Cinco de Mayo celebration, that has been an annual event for 16 years, Spanish language newspaper La Opinion reported Wednesday.
The ‘celebration’ will be headlined by Vice President Mike Pence at a to-be-determined location and with a reduced guest list, the newspaper said.
The White House has yet to release an official announcement and declined to comment on its unprecedented decision to trample all over celebrating the culture, that has played an integral role in the American landscape. The White House Cinco de Mayo celebration is a great way for the president to interact with the Hispanic community.
Well, I guess since Donald Trump isn’t running for office, he doesn’t think he needs to show an ounce of interest in embracing other cultures. He is content to demonize every other group except white people. You will recall he sent out a condescending and racist tweet with a photo of himself eating a taco bowl.
