Buhari, Saraki In Closed-Door Meeting As Senate Screens Magu Wednesday

SAN FRANCISCO, March 14, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Saraki and Dogara were driven into the forecourt of the Presidential Villa inside Saraki’s official car at exactly 12noon after which they headed straight to the President’s office for the meeting.

Buhari had on Monday written to the National Assembly, informing the lawmakers of his resumption of duties after spending 49 days on medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the Senate will be screening the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, on Wednesday.

Saraki made the announcement of the screening at the plenary on Tuesday.

Buhari had renominated Magu after the lawmakers rejected his nomination on the strength of a damning security report by the Department of State Services, DSS.
