The Political strife between former Trump top adviser, Steve Bannon, and the President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is one of the most poorly-kept secrets in Washington. But in a new profile in Vanity Fair, Bannon lays out how much of the blame for some of Donald Trump’s biggest political problems he lays at Kushner’s feet.
Bannon believes that much of the accusations swirling around the President with regards to the Russian investigation stems from actions that Kushner took during the presidential campaign.
He’s taking meetings with Russians to get additional stuff. This tells you everything about Jared. They were looking for the picture of Hillary Clinton taking the bag of cash from Putin. That’s his maturity level.
Bannon also blames Kushner for the firing of FBI Director James Comey. Bannon has called it the “the dumbest political decision in modern political history, bar none. A self-inflicted wound of massive proportions.” The decision to fire Comey led directly to the appointment of Robert Mueller as a Special Counsel to investigate the Russia matter.
Bannon, however, despite the friction with members of the President innermost circle remains fiercely loyal to Trump and the enactment of his agenda. According to Bannon, there’s a campaign to nullify the 2016 election underway by Democrats and the Republican establishment. “Trump’s at war with the permanent political class in D.C,” he said.
