KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Two Nepali athletics players reached Indonesia to participate in the ongoing 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games have been deprived of joining the competition due to delayed registrations.
Nepali sports office bearers failed to notice that whether the registrations of names of those players selected for the regional competition were made on time.
Bishwa Rupa Budha could not take part in the women’s 10,000 meters race while Somlal Kumal was barred from joining the men’s 400 meters held last Saturday.
However, they are yet to take part in one competition each. Though team manager Shanti Singh sent Bishwarupa inside the stadium, she had to return before the competition got started. Prior to this, Som Bahadur Kumar was prevented from trying his fate in the 400 meters run due to the same reason. RSS
