Two attackers, a policeman and a civilian have been killed and up to a dozen people have been injured in a terror attack on a Courthouse in the Turkish city of Izmir.
The attackers detonated a car bomb outside the courthouse before continuing the attack with Kalashnikov rifles and grenades, according to Izmir Governor Erol Ayyildiz.
Police are searching for a third man believed to connected with the attack.
A large cache of weapons were found at the scene, which Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak said implies a larger attack was planned, but thwarted by the swift actions of police.
It is not clear who was behind the attack, but Turkey has recently become a target for attacks by Kurdish rebels (PKK) and the Islamic State.
The courthouse attack follows last weekend’s Istanbul nightclub attack that left 39 people dead.
