The Trump-Russian Prostitute Scandal Was Leaked By This Senior Republican Senator

When Media released information on alleged incidents between Donald Trump and Russian prostitutes, among other questionable practices, supporters of the president-elect responded with uproar.

It’s fake news, they argued. It started as a prank on the 4Chan website, others claimed. It’s only a desperate attempt to falsely slander the next president, they said.

Trump himself quickly made the same argument in a stream of Twitter messages, too.
But what media most recently reported quickly shuts down those arguments. The accusations have a source, alright. And the source that Republicans are attempting to discredit is one of their own.
That’s right. According to UK’s The Guardian, it was John McCain – the Republican senator from Arizona and Republican presidential candidate in 2008 – who came across documents alleging Trump had secret contacts with Russian intelligence. (See the entire 35-page report below.)

“The material, which has been seen by the Guardian, is a series of reports on Trump’s relationship with Moscow.”

This dossier created by Russian agents included not just information on Trump’s bizarre practices with prostitutes (engaging in urination at Moscow’s Ritz-Carlton in the presidential suite once occupied by President Obama and his wife), but on questionable business deals that Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, attempted to arrange for Trump, too.
While Trump may continue to argue falsehood in the report:

“An official in the US administration who spoke to the Guardian described the source who wrote the intelligence report as consistently reliable, meticulous and well-informed, with a reputation for having extensive Russian contacts.

"Some of the reports – which are dated from 20 June to 20 October last year – also proved to be prescient, predicting events that happened after they were sent.”

This transmission of data from Sen. McCain to FBI director James Comey is established as fact, as well.

“The Guardian can confirm that the documents reached the top of the FBI by December. Senator John McCain, who was informed about the existence of the documents separately by an intermediary from a western allied state, dispatched an emissary overseas to meet the source and then decided to present the material to Comey in a one-on-one meeting on 9 December, according to a source aware of the meeting.”
While Comey acknowledges receiving that information from Sen. McCain, he declined to answer any questions from Congress, stating investigation was ongoing.

Trump held a late-morning press conference on January 11, discrediting the claims and refusing to answer questions from media who reported on the topic.

Meanwhile social media have had a field day with the topic. Twitter hashtags like #GoldenShowerGate quickly went viral, and memes referring to the incident are all over Facebook.

And while Trump supporters continue to argue in response to those social media postings, claiming error on the part of those circulating this information, perhaps they should be reminded that their own leader did just the same:
Here's the entire 35-page document on Trump's relations with Russia, detailing how Russia attempts to control him.
