We have a new Juice bar and healthy food place in Coconut Grove called Juicense, which is located at 2992 McFarlane Road, just a few doors down from Harry's Pizzeria.
I met Mariana Diez (shown here), co-owner of Juicense with her husband Adrian Moreno.
While the store is open now, they are having a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, August 6 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. I tried the Keep Me Awake drink while there - it's pineapple, carrot, celery, ginger and lemon - $7.75 for a bottle.
Mariana told me that everything is juiced and made right on location, in their own kitchen. They offer more than just healthy juices, they have smoothies, salads and open faced Toast - another place to get avocado toast, which I have been addicted to these days
Mariana is a health coach and she's been praising the benefits of healthy juice drinks and smoothies to her clients for years, so she decided it would be a great idea to start her own health food/drinks bar. "Everything is made with a purpose, we treat food like medicine," says Mariana. The names of the juices prove that, there is Burning Fat Fast, Keep Me Young, Beet It Up, Slim Me Down and so many more juices with names like that, all with a purpose. These cold pressed juices are $7.75 or $8.75 each, depending on the ingredients.
Aside from the juices, some of the foods are Chia Seed Pudding ($6.95); Raw Oatmeal ($6.95); Avocado Toast ($8.25); Smoked Salmon Toast ($12.95); Greek Kale Salad ($10.75); and there are different style Acai Power Bowls, which are ($10.75) the come in classic, tropical and green with toppings like banana, coconut, strawberry, honey almond granola and so much more.
This Almond Butter Toast ($8.25) is delicious.
They have Puppy Pops for your pet, too, made with peanut butter and "Yoghurt," which is what they call their own yogurt ($1.50).
Juicense is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 9 pm and weekends from 9 am to 9 pm. For info: 202-725-2036.
