Museum to feature history of Mutiny and Grove

The Coral Gables Museum is holding a Miami History Meetup on Saturday, August 3, featuring the story of Coconut Grove and Mutiny Hotel. Roben Farzad, author of Hotel Scarface, will share stories from his book on what made Coconut Grove and the Mutiny the place to be in the 1970s and '80s. The discussion and slide show will begin with a brief history of the Grove before Roben shares the salacious details of the evolution of what he later termed as "Hotel Scarface."

I interviewed Roben in 2017, when the book was first coming out.

The agenda at Saturday's event :

3:00-3:45 pm: Reception.

3:45-4:15 pm: Brief History & Slideshow of Coconut Grove by Casey Piket.

4:15-5:00 pm: Stories and pictures from Hotel Scarface by Roben Farzad.

5:00-5:30 pm: Question & Answers.

The book "Hotel Scarface" will be available for purchase and Roben will sign them.

Miami History Channel members will receive a $10 coupon code off the full ticket price which is $25. A discount code will be e-mailed to members in the coming days.

The museum is at 285 Aragon Avenue in the Gables.

Tickets may be purchased here.
