If only it could last forever . . .

The City of Miami has implemented a moratorium on construction during the holiday season starting November 21 and ending January 2.

This includes Coconut Grove, Brickell, downtown Miami, Wynwood, etc.

All contractors and utility companies "shall be demobilized" and adhere to the requirements: all equipment and materials shall be removed from the right-of-way; all trenches shall be back-filled and restored with hot asphalt patch; all sidewalks shall be restored in like condition.

Utility companies will only be permitted to do emergency work.

This is fantastic. The Grove is impossible to get around these days, it seems like every other road is blocked or under construction. I forgot what it's like to just have peace and quiet in the village. Let's savor it for this brief period of time!
