Badangpet Mayor Rejoins Congress after Quitting TRS

Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS’s) government suffered a major setback on Sunday when the mayor of Badangpet Municipal Corporation, Parijatha Narsimha Reddy, handed over her resignation letter to TRS district president Manchireddy Kishan Reddy on Sunday.

Aside from Badangpet Mayor Parijatha Narsimha Reddy, four more corporators resigned as TRS members, including Peddbavi Sudarshan Reddy and Rallaguda Srinivasareddy.  As part of TPCC’s original membership criteria, she was elected on the Congress ticket along with TPCC head Revanth Reddy and four other corporators on Sunday afternoon. There is a good chance that senior party leaders will be present when they join the party in New Delhi.

She initially cited personal reasons for leaving the party, but then said that she and her members had worked hard to make it much better. She said they quit the party in order to preserve their self-respect and rejoined Congress, from which they initially won. Moreover, she accused TRS leaders in the Maheshwaram constituency and Badangpet corporation of sidelining her despite her sincere efforts to work for the party.

Khairatabad TRS Corporator Joins Congress

A TRS corporator from Khairatabad switched her allegiance to Congress from the ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samithi. She is the daughter of former Congress Legislative Party leader late P Janardan Reddy, popularly known as PJR. It is well known that PJR fought for the separation of states back then and was one of the strongest leaders.

With a bright future in mind, she joined the Congress Party in hopes of continuing the legacy of PJR. She expressed her desire to return to her home party.
