The next election will use Aadhaar to link voter lists

Aadhaar cardholders will be required to share their Aadhaar details before the next general election, according to the former chief election commissioner Sushil Chandra.

The Aadhaar sharing issue was one of the questions Chandra was asked, and he responded that: “It will be voluntary. People who don’t want to share their Aadhaar numbers will need a valid reason for not doing so.”

Chandra went on to say that sharing Aadhaar numbers will enable the Election Commission not only to clear the voter’s list but also offer a wide range of additional services to voters.

Here is what you need to know about the Blue Aadhaar Card

An Aadhaar Card is a unique identity card issued by the Indian government and serves as a Unique Identification Number for Indian citizens. It is required to have an identity card to use the services of any bank, public-private financial institution, or other civic entity. It contains a 12-digit number that serves as a unique identification number.

Citizens of India are issued Aadhaar cards by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), but the Authority has recently introduced individual Aadhaar cards for children under five years old. The Blue Aadhaar Card is given to children but is designated as invalid once the child reaches the age of five, unlike the standard Aadhaar card.

Here is everything you need to get your child a Blue Aadhaar Card:

A blue-Aadhaar card can be obtained by following these steps:

The registration process involves bringing your child and all required documentation to the Aadhaar card enrollment centre. Fill out the application form to register.

The child’s UID will be connected to the parent’s Aadhaar card.
