Central Govt ready to discuss with wrestlers, Union Minister says - 'Sports and athletes our priority'

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has once again invited the protesting Wrestlers for talks. He said that allegations of sexual harassment leveled by women wrestlers against Wrestling Federation of India president and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh would be investigated impartially. On the other hand, in connection with the investigation into sexual harassment allegations leveled against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, the statements of his colleagues and people working at his home in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh have been recorded.

Wrestlers held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah

Among the protesting wrestlers, Sakshi and Bajrang had a lengthy meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah on the night of June 3. The Union minister said, “The government has already constituted a committee (to probe the allegations against Singh). The police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter. A charge sheet will also be filed and an impartial investigation will be conducted."
