New Delhi: US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin has visited India. Austin met with Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Important bilateral defense agreements were signed between the defense ministers of the two countries. A roadmap was prepared to increase defense technology exchange between Indo-US defense sector companies.
An important defense industrial cooperation agreement was signed between India and America. India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met in Delhi. The defense ministers of both the countries expressed their determination to increase defense cooperation. An agreement was reached between the two countries to increase defense technology cooperation, especially for air combat systems and ground forces.
The Defense Ministers of both countries expressed their commitment to peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region. A determination was expressed to strengthen the supply chain with regard to security. The US Defense Secretary said: Protecting sovereignty requires change as we witness a rapidly changing world. Responding to China's accusation of creating a NATO-like organization in the Indo-Pacific region, the American Defense Minister said that no major organization is being created in the region. Just making efforts for overall development and peace of this region.
After the meeting, Rajnath Singh tweeted: India-US defense partnership will bring peace and security to the Indo-Pacific region. Defense cooperation between the two countries will be crucial for the well-being of this region. India is willing to enhance cooperation with US for strategic partnership as well as defense capability. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit America at the end of the month. Before that, the defense agreements signed between the defense ministers of the two countries will be very important.
