The Chakrata MLA and senior Congress leader Pritam Singh tried to raise the issue of Backdoor Appointments in the Vidhan Sabha secretariat in the house on Wednesday but the speaker Ritu Khanduri prevented him from doing so. Accepting the order of the speaker, Singh said that he has proof of the gross corruption in the recruitment in Vidhan Sabha.

On the allegations of favouritism in appointments in Vidhan Sabha, the speaker had constituted an expert committee. On the recommendations of the committee the speaker terminated the services of 228 ad hoc employees recruited in the year 2016, 2020 and 2021 .
