Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) will work on beautification of Ghats under the ‘Own My Ghat’ scheme.  On directions of Haridwar district magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey, chief development officer Prateek Jain held a meeting with municipal officials and various organisations to finalise allocation of the tasks of cleaning and painting the Ghats. The works are slated to be started from December 1. The Ganga Sabha was handed over the responsibility of CCR, Gau Chat,

Nai Sota Ghat, Kusha Ghat and Sati Ghat while Niranjani Akhada president was made responsible for Ganesh Ghat. The responsibility of Parashuram Ghat, Prem Prakash Ashram, Bhagirathi Ghat has been handed over to Bhagwan Parashuram Brahmin Dharamshala.

Municipal commissioner Dayanand Saraswati said that the scheme was started by MCH for the maintenance and beautification of the Ghats. Organisations which had applied under the scheme have been allocated the tasks. These organisations will make arrangements for the maintenance of the Ghats.
