PRD and NCC cadets marched past the governor on the occasion. In addition to the march past, folk artistes from across the state also presented a glimps of the culture of Uttarakhand on the occasion.
The governor also awarded various government employees selected for the chief minister’s excellence and good governance awards on the occasion.
The march past by uniformed personnel and NCC cadets was appreciated by the gathering in addition to the cultural performances including various folk dances from Garhwal, Kumaon and Jaunsar regions of the state. Apart from the march past and cultural presentations, various departments also displayed their tableaux on the occasion.
Indian Constitution among the best in the world: Chief Minister
On the occasion of the 70th Republic Day, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat hoisted the national flag at CM residence and administered the oath of national unity and mutual harmony to the officers, employees and police personnel present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Rawat remembered the lawmakers, who framed the Constitution of India, opining that the Constitution of India is counted among the best constitutions in the world. Constitution of India is flexible and according to the time and circumstances, it has been amended. He said that pursuing the spirit with which the India’s constitution was made, the people have to take forward the country and society on the basis of inclusiveness. The country will never forget the freedom that India got because of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. He also congratulated mountaineer Bachendri Pal on being selected for Padma Bhushan, folk singer Pritam Bhartwan and photographer Anup Sah on being selected for Padma Shri.
