CAD moves with S4C to curb illegal displacement

Community alliance against Displacement have stood firmly in support of spaces for change to end forceful evictions by publishing a research which Lagos state is it case study. Several cases was mentioned and viewed widely for proper illumination.

Firstly! Otodo gbame which was mostly occupied by the egun people was demolished and the people were evicted forcefully.

This forceful eviction and demolition of the residents and their houses at the waterfront community in Lekki, Eti-Osa local government area, have now thrown the people into a serious state of unrest.

Mothers have their children and husbands missing, fathers can no longer cater for their children and everything seems lopsided in the community where fishing is their major source of livelihood.

Secondly! The case of Badia-east which had been the home of demolition for Lagos state government have also been used as data in this research.

One of the objectives of this research is to strive for lasting solution on this menace(forced evictions).
