The Daily Express, basically owned by Richard Desmond (owner of the Health Lottery, UKIP donator and with documented / published links to the Mafia), has published a report by Brand Finance (an assett assessment and valuation company) that the Royal Family have £25.5billion in assetts, cost us £292million a year to maintain, but, Brand Finance reckon (without apparently giving any reasoning / calculation / substantiation to their estimate), the Royal Family earns the UK £1.766billion per year. It sounds like someone has commissioned this report to show the Royal Family in the best possible light due to their waning public popularity.

The thing is, if the Royal Family somehow earn this country £1.766billion per year, is it possible they could earn it more by giving up their palaces to the private sector to convert into luxury hotels / retreats (while retaining rooms within those palaces), and shouldn't they cost the country less than £292million a year (no doubt this figure is offset by their tax dodging offhore investment yields, which tax dodging probably has not been included in the calculations), yet still be very happy to wave the flag for GB?

Also, whatever they earn the UK, isn't that corruption, a bribe for being head of state? Aren't we a democracy? If we are, shouldn't we vote for who becomes head of state? I have no problem in the Queen being ceremonial head of state, but she is not my true head of state as I did not vote for her. If people want to vote for her to be head of state, that is their right, as long as she stands for re-election like the governmentand at the same time (NB I also want to vote for members of the upper house, to get rid of the nepotistic Lords).


I suspect the Royal Family would make great ambassadors, and should be renumerated accordingly, which is not going to be anywhere near £292million a year.

I am sure many people will buy into this BS report; I do not.
