In demonstration of his humanitarian and philanthropic acts the Janna Health Foundation a non-governmental organisation founded by Dr.Stephen John has distributed free food items, detergents and a treated mosquito nets to widows and the less privileged in the society.
Speaking during the presentation at Michika, Headquarters of Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, the chairman Chief Executive of Janna Health Foundation, Dr. Stephen John said that the programme has started since 2012, with the aim of putting smiles on the faces of widows and the less privilege in the society especially during Yuletide period.He maintained that the Janna Health Foundation apart from providing succor to the widows and the less privileged, the organisation also voluntarily carries out HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB) test and counseling, assisting the needy to enroll into schools and provide uniforms and learning materials in addition to payment of school fees to the indigents in the society.
Also in his remarks at the occasion, the Programme Manager HIV/AIDS Dr. Suraj Abdulkarim appreciated Dr. Stephen John for his foresight and humanitarian gesture.
He said that the materials donated will in no small measure assist those benefiting from the gesture.
Dr. Abdulkarim however promised to emulate the footsteps of Dr. Stephen John and appealed to well to do individuals to emulate him.
Appreciating the gesture, one of the beneficiaries Madam Esther Akawu thanked the founder of Janna foundation Dr. Stephen John for the assistance and prayed to God to continue to bless and reward him abundantly.
Over one hundred people benefitted from the gesture of Janna Health Foundation, this year.
