Women in Adamawa State have advanced in recent times and are fully involved in politics unlike before when they were left behind and used by male politicians to fill in the gaps for their  political ambition.

Disclosing this in an exclusive interview with The Scope on Wednesday Hajiya Fatima Abdullahi who is incharge of women PDP Secretariat said that the women leadership under Hajiya Altine has been carrying out awareness campaign and programme to sensitize women on the need to join politics.

She expressed disappointment over the attitude of some people who derive pleasure in tarnishing the image of women, especially in politics and said that women should be respected due to the significant roles they play both at home and in the society.

She urged the present Administration to always consider women and engage them in at whatever levels which is one of their campaign promises.

Hajiya Fatima challenged women to come out enmass and join politics and say no to ignorance, to enable them contribute their quota for the development of the State and the nation at whole “gone are the times of slumber and sleeping, lets stand on our feet and fight for our rights like our male counterpart do”, she explained.
