Algeria is keen to implement the affordable Housing programme as being done by the Malaysian government to help its low income citizens , especially in the urban areas, to have their own house, said Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar.
As such, he said, the Algerian government had invited companies in Malaysia to invest in the development of affordable housing in the republic.
Noh said the invitation was extended to him by Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and City of Algeria Abdelwahid Temmara when the later paid a courtesy call on him in conjunction with the 9th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF9) here today.
“They still have vast land to implement the housing programme. They are interested with our affordable housing schemes such as the People’s Housing Project (PPR) and the Transit Home, and on how we help the urban and rural folks,” he told reporters.
Meanwhile, Noh also received a courtesy call from Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development, US Department of Housing and Urban Development Neal Rackleff during which they discussed redevelopment of old houses…..
