One Northeast Michigan organization is bringing awareness to the area about animals that have been mistreated. Sunrise Animal Sanctuary is doing so by saving the lives of horses.
Kill pens, how many can say they’ve heard of that term? For one local couple, Jason and Jess Beatty they didn’t even know what it was until they rescued their horse, Spartan.
Jessica’s husband said he found out more by accident. Spartan suffered abuse for over three weeks inside of quarantine from Louisiana.
So far the Beatty’s have rescued over 27 horses. Taking care of these animals comes with more than the price of love.
If you would like to help out the organization log on to SunriseAnimalSanctuary.org and Spartan’s journey to recovery on Sunrise Animal Sanctuary’s Facebook page.
