An incident has come to light from Haryana’s Panipat where an elderly Woman received a power Bill of Rs 21 Lakh. Frustrated by the bill, the woman visited the power department to protest in a unique way by distributed sweets and playing a band. The woman

According to reports, the elderly woman also ordered a band team to play instruments to announce a Rs 21 lakh electricity bill. The 65 year-old-woman, a resident of 2 room flat in Sant Nagar has told the media that she would have to sell off her house to pay off the power bill.

Suman, aggrieved by the large sum of bill, went to the Panipat electricity department office and distributed the sweets in celebration of being forced to sell off her flat due to pay of the electricity. 60-year-old Suman is a factory worker and is the only habitant in the 2-room flat.

However, it is not the first time that Suman had received such an arbitrary bill as she previously faced a similar situation back in 2019 even though she had priorly cleared the dues. The power department despite her clearing out her dues have been adding late fee charges.

The reports also suggest that after the reader instrument was checked a reading of 99 thousand even though it is impossible for one house to get such a high reading.

Another incident

Another incident from west Bengal’s Bankura District came to the fore where a man, frustrated by the authorities in failing to correct his name in ration card, barked like a dog in front of an government official. According to reports the man had applied for correction in his name, however, to his surprise the man’s name surname Dutta was replaced with Kutta (dog) which led to him taking such drastic measures. The man was identified as Srikanti Dutta.
