Delhi AIIMS server down since 48 hours, patients lined up at counter after online work completely stopped

The Server has gone down in Delhi’s largest hospital AIIMS, after which there has been an outcry in the hospital. Patients are facing problems due to server down and had to wait for hours for their reports.

Reportedly, all the work related to the online network of the hospital is still stalled. According to AIIMS, this problem started from 7.30 am on Wednesday. Due to the server down, its effected the work related to online appointment, recruitment of patients, OPD registration, digital hospital service, smart lab, billing and report generation.

When the server failed on Wednesday, the maximum impact was on the registration of OPD. Thousands of people from different places of the country come here daily for treatment in AIIMS. But due to server down in AIIMS, registration through the system stopped.

Initially, the network was not connecting to their computer, due to which the work was done manually. But due to the slow pace of work, the crowd at the registration counter increased. There was delay in treatment and some people could not reach OPD on time. In such a situation, the patients who were about to be discharged from the hospital also had to face trouble.

In order to provide better treatment to patients and solve their problems, orders have been given by the AIIMS administration to increase manpower in all departments as the replacement of computers. In fact, since two days many services including OPD, Emergency and Lab have been done manually.

According to sources, officials from India Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), Delhi Police, Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) along with the technical team are probing the cause of the server down. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has also registered a case against unknown people in the matter.
