India is all set to celebrate its 75th year of independence on August 15. As the day is just around the corner, tech giant Google art and culture on Friday announced an initiative called India ki Udaan, under which it showcased how India has achieved so much in the last 75 years. In order to mark the special day, the firm also released a short video on the photo-sharing application Instagram, where it has shared the culture, art, sports and other big events that the country has witnessed in the last 75 years.

The initiative has been launched by Google’s art and culture at an event that was held at Delhi’s Sunder Nursery on Friday. The event has been attended by the Union Culture and Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and senior officials of the culture ministry and Google.

The heart-touching video, which was narrated by the Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar starts with a glimpse of the father of the nation Mahatama Gandhi. The short clips show how India has worked to conquer all the hardships and walked towards the road of success during the last 75 years.

An initiative India ki Udaan allows people to explore more than 120 illustrations and 21 stories created by 10 artists, alongside exhibitions from various institutions across India.

Manager & Vice president, Google India Sanjay Gupta, Country in a blog post said that the initiative different view of the country’s remarkable moments. He said, through this, it will will allow people to discover India’s history, iconic personalities, proudest scientific and sporting achievements, and how the country’s women inspired the world. As we go forward, we’ll continue to work with partners and artists to enrich the collection, Gupta added.

In order to make the initiative a big success, the tech giant also asked the students between 1 to 10 grades to participate in the 2022 Doodle for Google contest on the theme of in the next 25 years, my India will.

It says the winner of the contest will have their artwork displayed on the Google homepage in India on November 14th. Apart from this, it also revealed that the winner also will be awarded an INR 5,00,000 college scholarship, and an INR 2,00,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization and recognition of achievement.
