Gus Kenworthy attended a Birthday Party in London for the son of the Sultan of Brunei. Brunei is a southeast Asian nation where Sharia Law exists and being gay is punishable by death.

Also at the party was Caitlyn Jenner, who appeared in an Instagram photo with Kenworthy and boyfriend Matthew Wilkas, which was deleted shortly after it was uploaded to Kenworthy’s Instagram account on Friday.

Blogger Kenneth in the 212, who posted the photo after it was sent to him by a reader, writes:

Gus Kenworthy posted a photo from the queeny son of the Sultan of Brunei’s birthday party in London but quickly deleted it when he realized celebrating a member of a family that is looking to make being gay punishable by death isn’t something an Instagram filter can make look pretty. Enabling this “wealth can shield me from what my government is doing to my LGBT comrades” mentality is par for the course for Caitlyn Jenner, but I’d hoped for more from Gus and his actor boyfriend. Have you guys not at least heard about the boycott of the Beverly Hills Hotel?

It’s not the first time Kenworthy has regretted oversharing on Instagram. Back in November 2015 he apologized after posting a photo of himself at Halloween in a Native American chief’s costume.
