Having a small business means I get to offer support to my community in some really cool ways. One thing I love to do is donate photo sessions to worthy causes. I donate 8-10 sessions a year to the Flower Mound area, and it is always neat to see/hear how the funds from bids or raffle tickets support my community. (Like that one time funds from my photo session paid for a car for a needy high school student. So awesome!)

I recently donated a session to my son’s elementary school fundraiser and the winning bidder was from a fellow photographer, Shannon Abbott, in the area. I always love to photograph other photograpehrs! As it turned out, I bid and won on an auction item SHE had coordinated – a one month pass to Burn Bootcamp in Flower Mound. (Fast forward to present day and I will say that I LOVE Burn and just typing this blog post is making my arms sore all over again, ha!).

Anyhow, we met at a fun barn location that I requested permission to shoot on and she ended up turning her petite session into a full session. All the stars aligned because not only did we have Ah-Mazing Decemeber weather, but the sunset was gorgeous!

Getting to photograph a super awesome family (and new friend!)  AND have it support my favorite elementary school? Win-Win.
