I get asked every so often- “What’s the best part about being a Wedding photographer?” My answer is always the same. When I get to shoot couples like Katie and Nathan, who are as amazing as they are, and people I could see being great friends with had we lived closer or been a part of the same social circles (although we actually do have a bunch of mutual friends), that puts the satisfaction in, “job satisfaction”. Introduced by Jon Tan, one of Nathan’s ex-roommates in college, and my incredibly talented photographer friend, I was ecstatic to find out they were so similar in taste, when it comes to things we like, as well as our shared Christian faith. Nathan put it best when describing his wedding theme as “10-year-old birthday party”, and it was as apt, as it was AWESOME. With their home decorated to the roof with Harry Potter, Pokemon, including a classic camera collection (which had me insanely jealous), I felt right at home, and as if I were just hanging out with my camera rather than actually working! There is no question in my mind, that God put these two together like two connecting puzzle pieces. From their ceremony at Voorhees Chapel in Rutgers to their reception at Pierre’s at South Brunswick in NJ, everything was just perfect. It couldn’t have been more of a pleasure shooting this loving couple. Thanks also to my always-creative second shooter, Haris, for coming up with some fantastic shots as well!
