When I am not shooting fashion or beauty I love serving as the NYC Chapter Director for Flashes of Hope, a national charity that brings commercial photographers into juvenile Cancer treatment centers to photograph the patients and their families.

Today I had the pleasure of running a photo shoot with photographer Shirin Tinati who specializes in actors’ head shots and makeup artist Marilyn Wise.  Shirin is also a cancer survivor which makes the experience all the more meaningful.

Working with this organization puts a lot of things into perspective.  The experience is grounding.  The kids are amazing.  The parents are strong.  The child life specialists, nurses, doctors and hospital staff are incredible!
