Bringing the Country to Suburbia

Tags: squash country

There are times when I long for a small farmette in the country. But the truth is, it is not where we are right now. God placed us in the burbs and my health does not allow for the hard work of farming.

This brings me to the spaghetti Squash. At first I thought a cantelope bush was growing out of the side of the compost. Unfortunately it is the squash. Don't get me wrong, a squash once or twice a year is fine but I can't deal with 45 of them. I have visions of a table set up in the front year with a "free" sign. Feel free to stop by!

The peas, beans and rhubarb pretty up the back alley.

Last but not least, there is an old-fashioned pop of color around the place.

Rose of Sharon
Cone flowers
Black-eyed Susan's
Hostas
Ferns
Sedum

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer, enjoying the natural beauty that is around us.

Sarah
