Still No Photography but Plenty of Photos

As I mentioned last week, I haven’t been out with a camera since mid-March. That hasn’t changed this week, and I doubt it will change in the next few weeks; I have too many immediate deadlines to meet. I have though promised myself that when the deadlines are met, I’m going to take a short break to do some actually photography.

Fortunately, I have many, many images in my photo library that have yet to be processed. Here’s one from Formby that I shot back in December on a stormy day and which I recently developed. I love the intense, dramatic light.

This image is two photos stitched together. Both were short handheld at 1/80” using a Fuji XT3 with Fuji 16-80 lens at f/13.0 and ISO160. I also used a 3 stop reverse ND grad filter on the sky.

If you are wondering what’s currently taking all my time, there are a few big things. Two that I can share here are:

  1. I’m working on another book. This time it’s about how to organise and manage your photo collection using Lightroom. This isn’t a book coldly explaining all the features in the Lightroom Library. Instead, it’s a practical book on using the Lightroom Library module to organise photography. I’m aiming to have this released in July this year.
  2. The other thing is that I’ve been working on is a beginners Affinity Photo course which I’ve been publishing on YouTube. If you haven’t seen it, lesson 4 was published yesterday. The links to all four lessons so far are below.

Lesson 1: The Basics

Lesson 2: Export & Adjustment Layers

Lesson 3: Essential Tools

Lesson 4: Filters and Live Filters

I hope you like the photo and videos and have a great weekend.
