When this feature rolls out to use for iOS and Android users, you’ll see a new messages button on the left-hand slide out drawer which will allow you to message any business that you look for on the Google Maps.

In order to avail this feature, the business has to be verified first. Upon verification, the businesses can directly communicate with their potential or existing customers through the Google Maps App.
With this feature, users won’t have to walk down to the store to get answers to their queries which aren’t listed on their website. Even calling the store is sometimes a chaos because who has the time to call up and explain?
Texting the business instead is definitely a more reliable and easier option compared to a phone conversation. It is beneficial for both the customers and the store people.
But yes, we can’t ignore the fact that Google’s previous chat messengers haven’t been a success to be true. Remember Hangouts? Yes, that’s a blurry memory. Also, Google paused Allo.
With new features being added on Google Maps, will it lose its simplicity? Maybe, it will. Due to the different options available, it can be sometimes difficult to get the simplest directions because of explore, ETA, share options clogging your phone’s screen.
