Google Clips AI Camera is an extremely lightweight weighing just about 59.5 grams. It has 12 megapixels camera and measures 2 inches square. It comes with a storage capacity of 16GB and you can sync the images & videos on Google Photos as well. As the name suggests, ‘clips’ refers to its ability to be clipped on to objects and even clothes, given that it feather light. While the main aim is to enable the camera to take pictures by itself lying in a corner, you can also click photographs manually. The camera has gone on sale in the United States and is now open for pre-orders on Google Store, priced at $249 with no delivery charges. The delivery is expected to be done in the early March.  There has not been any information about when will it be available in India.
Clips AI detects faces and smiles, learns based on its knowledge. It takes into account proper framing and lighting conditions while taking a picture at 15fps, with a 130-degree field of view. The camera is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. With the camera’s AI and machine learning capabilities, you can just leave it in your drawing room while you enjoy a day with your family or a party. It’ll capture pictures on its own, using its intelligence to detect which moment is the best to click one. The best Clips, which include photos and short animations, are delivered to the companion app, where you can save individual frames as hi-resolution photos.

The smartphones that are currently compatible with it are limited. The company says: “Google Clips app on a compatible mobile device (Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy S7, or Galaxy S8) running Android 7.0 Nougat or greater (iPhone 6, Iphone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X) and iOS 10 or greater.”
As read on Tech Crunch,

Clips is not an accessory to the Pixel — or anything else, really. “It’s an accessory to anything, I’d say. It’s a stand-alone camera. A new type of camera and insofar as that any digital camera has become an accessory to a computer or a phone, so too with this,” he said. “The reason for that comes back to the fact that the intelligence is built into the device to decide when to take these shots, which is really important because it gives users total control over it.”

With the Google Clips AI camera, you can be in the moment and enjoy it to the fullest not hustling with the camera to take pictures to cherish.
