A Copley Winter Fall

Copley inter is a set of 11 pictures taken around St Stephens Church, Wilson Bridge and the entrance to North Dean Woods at Copley. The pictures were taken at the end of a recent snowfall on the 29 December 2017 using a Nikon d3300 SLR camera.

St Stephens Church, opened in1865 for the people who lived in the nearby model village. It is accessed now by crossing the Wilson Bridge over the River Calder, but when originally it was accessed via the then Copley Toll Bridge which was destroyed by flooding in the Calder Valley on Boxing Day 2015. The church is accessible on selected days now having closed in 1993, on this day it was closed and as I was only passing I only pictured the side that fronts on to North Dean Road.

The other notable building pictured is the former toll house for Copley Bridge. The house is a private dwelling that for many years was owned by a Mr Graham Wilson, who's name is given to it's replacement crossing when it opened in 2017. The name was selected by local schoolchildren. The toll house built in the 19th century is Grade II listed and sits opposite the lychgate entrance to St Stephens.
