Regular visitors to this site and some of my other media channels will know of my love of Manchester.
It's the place where I cut my business teeth, where I gained lots of the skills I carry with me today and above all it's a city that I feel a great affinity with. I just like the place.
I have loved the way that the city has developed and changed over the years, keeping much of the old traditions and merging new and exciting developments in with it all.
This is just a small set of images that capture some of the old and some of the new, starting with a glimpse of the Town Hall through the tree circled square that stands in front of it.
The sun was shining out of a perfectly clear blue sky and it gave some great light and some new and interesting angles to look at.
Once you get close to the Town Hall you start to appreciate the sheer artistry of its design:
Just a short walk away from the square and the old building you hit the newly developing area of Spinningfields. There is just so much new building going on around here, it's transforming the place.
The new office blocks constructed of glass and steel make a lovely frame for the view up to Deansgate and the older offices from the 70s and 80s.
As you move further away from Deansgate and more towards the river, you hit the big new developments in all there high rise glory.
The city is changing, its always changing, sometimes it's a forced change, sometimes it's from investment, but there is always something going on.
I will always photograph and write about Manchester, nearly as much as I write about Wigan, so keep coming back to see more and if you have a favourite view, then drop me a line and I will see what I can do!
