What Dogs Are Thinking

Hey everybody!  It’s Chuey and Cash here again filling in for mom today.  We’re glad she’s letting us take over because we have a bone to pick with her, LOL.  You see, this last week she has been so busy running around doing God knows what, that she hasn’t even had time to take us on our walk every day like we’re used to.  Yeah we have a fenced yard to run and play in, but it’s just not the same as getting to go outside and explore the neighborhood and see what all the other dogs are up to.  Besides, if we don’t get to pee on every weed, bush, and garbage can when we’re out walking we’re afraid our scent is going to fade away and some other dogs might come along and cover it up.  Geez, that would suck!

Anyhoo…mom says she has to go and leave us more often because she started a new job, and she has to go out and help people do Stuff.  I don’t know how that could be more important than spending time with us, but she says she’s gotta do it if we want to keep eating and getting yummy treats and toys and stuff.  But she did promise that as soon as she finishes her training and gets a regular schedule going, we can go back to walking every day again, just earlier in the morning.  And that’s okay because early mornings are better now that’s getting too hot to go outside in the middle of the day anyway, and it’s only going to keep getting hotter.  That’s because we live in hell….or Arizona, we can’t really tell the difference because one’s about as hot as the other in the summertime.

Chuey’s Turn

There’s something that’s really been bugging me more and more lately, so I just gotta get it off my chest.  We really like living in our house with a nice yard to run around in and stuff, but there is one problem with it.  There’s a monster that lives in our kitchen.  Sometimes it makes these loud noises, bangs, and water running and stuff, and it scares the bejeezus out of me.  Mom says it’s just the dishwasher and the one in our old house never bothered me, so why should this one?  I don’t know, it just sounds different and I hate it.  Every time that thing starts making a racket I can’t help but shake and pant because I’m so nervous.  It’s gotten so bad that mom is afraid I’m going to have a heart attack.  So she thought she’d be smart and only turn it on late at night after I’d gone to bed.  I guess sometimes that works if I’m sound asleep, but I know she can be sneaky and I don’t always trust her.  If I’m not sleeping soundly, I’ll follow her back into the kitchen and give her the evil eye.  Then she’ll go back to bed without turning it on.  Sometimes she even washes dishes in the sink instead, just to I won’t freak out.  Mom thinks it’s silly, but I just can’t help it.  I know someday that monster is going to get me!

Cash’s Turn

I think it’s just silly that Chuey gets so scared about that dishwasher.  It doesn’t bother me a bit.  He’s just a little ‘fraidy cat.  He’s also scared of riding in the car and that doesn’t make any sense either.  Riding is fun, especially if we’re not going very far.  I love to stick my nose out the window and smell all the delicious smells as the world goes by, just like this dog is doing.

But one thing I don’t like is the vacuum cleaner.  I know I’m not alone in that one, right?  Lots of dogs hate vacuum cleaners.  Those are the real monsters that can eat you up.  It’s funny that Chuey doesn’t have a problem with them, but I do.  Every time I see mom pull that thing out of the closet I let her know real quick that I’d rather go out in the backyard and explore than stay inside and have to hear that thing.  I just know one of these days it’s going to eat me if I don’t stay out of its way.

Happy Easter

For those of you that celebrate, have a Happy Easter!  Everyone else, have a great weekend, and mom will be back next week.  Who knows what she’ll talk about, but we’re sure it will be good.
